What Does Cross Platform Buying Look Like When Considering Mobile?

Mobile ad sales is an incredible buzzword being used in the industry this past year. Recently, we've been dissecting mobile advertising trends in order to paint a picture of the industry as a whole. Of course, Mobile is one of many platforms so it's interesting to note that 89% of Mobile advertisers are buying across platforms. Let's dive into the types platforms specifically:

According to Q3 data sourced from MediaRadar, of the total number of mobile advertisers, 10.6% of advertisers are mobile only, 26.6% of advertisers buy across Mobile, Desktop, and Print, and 62.1% buy across just Mobile and Desktop.

This is an intriguing finding that sparks another popular buzzword: Upsell!

25% of desktop advertisers are buying in mobile. Of the 25% of desktop advertisers buying in mobile however only 12% of those desktop advertisers sold to the same brands mobile sites. This means that 13% of desktop advertisers are missing upsell opportunities with properties they already have a relationship with. Knowing where opportunities lie can make your cross selling strategy that much more successful if you know where to look.
